Now that we have two status effects in the game, vulnerability and burning, perhaps an extra layer of difficulty could be added via a mode that makes it so that enemies can apply the same effects to the player.

For the most part Non-projectile enemy damage would apply burns, and enemy beam weapons would apply the vulnerability
